And Then There Was Silence

Description

I know that to most people this probably doesn't seem like an amazing photo, but as a photographer it means so much to me. I took this photo at 7 a.m. in the morning on my third day of not sleeping, i tried to hard to sleep but I couldn't because my mind just would not be quiet....so I decided that instead of laying there I would go to a peaceful little area of trees and grass and try and meditate then maybe take some pictures of the leaves that had fallen off the trees the night before.

After unsuccessfully meditating I got frustrated and just started snapping pictures, none of which came out well. I was about to quit when I dropped my lens cap on the ground and in the middle of picking it up realized that I needed to be on the same level as the things I was trying to photograph in order to truly appreciate those things.

After all of the bad shots I had gotten that morning I was amazed at the beauty of the picture in front of me because for once my camera had taken a picture that was EXACTLY the same way in my mind, and instantly fell in love with it.

After that I went inside and fell right to sleep because I was totally satisfied because I had done what every photographer dreams to do, make the image in their head reality and to capture the beauty that they see around them to remember and share with others.

So that is why I am in love with this photo and barely did anything post processing, just remove the corner of a building that was throwing it off.

Enjoy! and sorry for the long sentimental speech

the composition breaks a few rules, but i love it even more for that. i honestly wish i had taken this. and i dont wish that for too many images. so great job. :) keep up the wonderful work! i cant wait to see more!
